GENDER: female
SPECIES: maned wolf
ORIENTATION: asexual
PACK: n/a
RANK: n/a
HEIGHT: thirty-five inches
WEIGHT: fourty-eight pounds
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Despite her long black limbs, the woman is undeniably small if only because of her build. Per the nuance of her breed, Agapi is not alike to any other wolf species in existence. She carries herself in what could only be likened to delicacy, a stature of dainty elegance. Such frailty isn't helped much by the fact that in her younger years she was often sickly. Thin bones are layered by scant muscles, soft fur atop soft skin. Her limbs are very-near to being stilts beneath her, holding aloft a thin torso and artfully crafted skull.
Undoubtedly, submission is her most prominent personality trait. Those large triangular ears are always turned backwards save for times when she is hunting alone. Her limbs are always tucked beneath her body to lower herself to a superior. Her tail is always held loosely between her hind limbs, itching to tuck itself against her stomach. Eyes always downcast unless she is being directly spoken to.
But if one can look past her frail exterior, they would find that she is quite a lovely little creature. Almost but not quite pup-like in her diminutive appearance, Agapi is of fine enough build - her legs are graceful and slender, her paws dainty, her head delicate and softly offset by her large black ears framing the white inner-ear, the black face-mask adding a gentleness to her unusual eyes - a very bright though dark green, that become more prominent should she be startled into truly strong emotion, though for the most part they make up a face that seems to be forever gentle.
PERSONALITY: When her personality and appearance are compared, little differs with Agapi. The aura about her (the humble tenderness of her gaze as honest as one could get) is something of a rare trait in a world of bravado and pomp. She is (and often proves in everything she does) an incredibly sweet-natured being. Cripplingly shy, but not so much skittish as she used to be, she is merely the little lady who becomes disconcerted when attention is intensely upon her. She is often humble enough that she will often seem almost apologetic if one praises or compliments her, as if she is not quite used to this and never will be.
Shyness aside, her nature is truly of one designed to heal, so to speak. She is capable of great gentleness in spirit, open of heart and unaffectedly warm and caring. She is ever trying to see the good in one and all, though with maturity she has begun to realize that no matter how you look at some things or people, you just can't find the positivity. She is also capable of great amounts of empathy, able to understand matters seemingly above her, and often exhibits the same understanding of other people's motives and morals, even if it is a painful thing to consider.
Unfortunately, this means she is very prone to forgetting herself for the good of others. She tends to bury her own heartache and pain (both mental and physical) in favor of those she feels concern and care for. She also tends to blame herself for things out of her control. Due to her size, she is often dismissed quickly as of a weaker individual, which she is physically. She does, however, strive to prove that she is not the weaker of her "competition" among those around her.
Mentally though? Don't ever be fooled, because if you are, you will learn quickly not to be. No, Agapi is not possessed of a temper or truly malicious intentions, but one will find that she is possessed of an incredible inner strength. A sort of sturdy resilience that comes from the heart and soul alone, allowed one to wade through even the darkest of waters. It is the kind of strength that has allowed her to survive and move on from the obstacles of her life, both physical and emotional.
HISTORY: She arrived in the cold of winter, with beginnings being nothing close to an auspicious lot. They were, in fact, downright unlucky. An early labor as the result of a 'kick' to her mother's mid-regions, and Agapi was born - small, frail, and sickly; as if the cold itself had pierced her mother's womb and infected the child with illness.
For a while, it seemed as though she would not see out the winter. Her mother was encouraged to the point of forcefulness to abandon her little pup, a pup which was termed a bastard in their small pack of careful breeding within a facility. Her health was little helped by the fact that her mother's position was now lowest in the pack where it had once been favored by the alpha male, Shinjiro. It was a result of a trauma that was not even Marietta's own fault. Coveted as she had been for her strange and alluring beauty, she still had not been an incredibly strong creature, and (the wanderer she was) she had fallen victim to another lusting brute, been taken, and Agapi was the result.
Despite the isolation, it drove Marietta to rebel against all advice, and she turned every attention to making Agapi survive, even at the cost of her own health and well-being. And indeed she succeeded, for Agapi saw the winter through, emerging healthy and alive with the coming of spring, though she never quite grew into true strength, forever doomed to retain her small stature.
Her mother was killed early into the autumn, before Agapi even reached the age of one. Killed by a sickness that could not readily be contained by the two-leggeds, as Agapi herself watched her mother slowly deteriorate day by day. Since the day of her mother's death, Agapi hasn't spoken a single word to anyone, though no one truly knows the reason anymore. Agapi was lost for a brief time after that, grieving as she was, growing steadily weaker without sustenance, but neither expecting nor daring to beg anyone to feed her. Luck seemed to be on her side for that little while, though, for she was eventually noticed and taken in by one of the pack's nursemaids, one who had lost her own pup to stillbirth. In fact, the nursemaid was blood of Marietta, her own sister. Agapi was, for the time being, safe from the ostracization and cruelty of the others.
At the age of two years her foster mother Loletta died in her sleep, and shortly thereafter Agapi was released onto the reservation.
