JOiNiNG ! accounts 01. WTMS is a one-character-per-account forum. This means that you can only have one character per account. To make it easier for themselves, and others, some members have created a single OOC account that they then use to post in OOC areas and conduct general OOC stuff--thereby reserving their IC accounts for IC areas only. You are not required to make an OOC account, but you are absolutely allowed. If you make an OOC account, please contact a staff member so we can put that account into the correct membergroup. You can either pm a staff member directly, or you can post in the Contact The Staff board. Thanks! 02. For OOC accounts: Your username should be whatever you want your ooc name to be, but perhaps a shortened version if you have a long name, whatever you're comfortable with. Your display name can be whatever you want, though most members tend to stick with their full OOC name. You can add any number of symbols to your display name. Make it you! 03. For IC accounts: Your username should be your character's first name only. This makes it easier when someone goes to tag you in a post. Your display name can be your character's first name, full name, or first and last name. Please do not add symbols to your IC display name. We understand this can be confusing on the first read, so please feel free to ask questions if you have them. 04. Signatures cannot be larger than 500 pixels in width, 600 pixels in height--it'll stretch the boards if it exceeds these measurements. Tables must be within the same width limit, but they can be as tall/long as you'd like within reason. 05. There's no limit to how many characters you can have, but they all need to be active. This means at least one post with each character every week. If you feel overwhelmed you can always adopt some out to other roleplayers, or put some on hold for awhile. Just make sure that you notify staff so that they aren't counted as active members of a pack, group, etc. 06. Activity checks help us maintain a happy, active community by allowing us to identify and archive dead threads belonging to inactive members. We allow an entire week for members to reply to an activity check, and always check the away board for those whom won't be around to participate. If something comes up, and you are going to be away for awhile, please let us know. All activity checks will be posted in the announcement board. characters 01. Banned breeds can be found in the announcement board. They change often, so don't be afraid to keep peeking in. Name claims can be found in the character creation board. These are first-come, first-serve, and are counted by accepted characters. We do offer name reservations, and you can find more information on reservations in the name claims thread. 02. All characters must be born in Spring (makes things much simpler). However, seeing as how a wolf or dog younger than 6 months would die without their mother's milk and parents' protection, all characters must be older than 6 months old when created. The only exception to this rule is if the character was born on-site and adopted immediately or if the character is being created for an admin-approved plot. 03. Your character biography must be accepted before you can roleplay. While we understand that it can be an anxious wait, we ask for your patience while we make sure that characters don't break any rules, or stretch the limits of our brand of realism. Given that staff is on every day, it shouldn't very long to be accepted. If you find yourself having waited three or more days without being accepted, we urge you to contact a staff member immediately. 04. We do not allow 'fantasy' additions to characters. This includes unnatural colors, patterns, markings, eye colors, horns, wings, etc. Certain things such as color chalking for dogs (a canine-safe temporary coloring that can be placed on a dog's coat) are allowed, so long as there is a feasible explanation for it. Unusual patterns, markings, eye colors, etc. are allowed, but must be purchased from the store. 05. While we do not have a set height or weight limit for specific breeds of wolf or dog, we do ask that you remain realistic to the general height and weight of your character's breed. We will typically use Wikipedia or DogBreedInfo.com to check height and weight of a species/breed. A slight change, be it above or below, is absolutely acceptable, so long as there is a feasible explanation. 06. Pregnancies can only be created through roleplay. Female characters cannot be created pregnant. 07. Slavery is allowed, but tentatively. So long as your pack/group/gang has a feasible explanation, and does not abuse the privilege, we will allow it. Slaves are never to be used for breeding. 08. Since the main plot of WTMS is wolves versus dogs, creation of a wolf x dog hybrid is not allowed. You can only obtain a wolfdog by breeding on-site to create a litter of them, or by winning one in a contest. This rule will vanish in the later stages of our plot, so please be patient. 09. While it is not required, it is recommended that you have some knowledge of wolf body language (seeing as dogs use some of it, too).
